Welcome to Maxix Robotics
Hey Everyone, and welcome to our page. We were a small team of developers who made this game and we learned a lot. This was our first game ever and it took us over a year to make it. We have learned a LOT and have grown, below I will show the various changes the game took for those that want a look behind the scenes.
BEHIND THE SCENES:
"The Image shown above was the second iteration of the Maxix Robotics Lobby."
First Iteration:
- The First Iteration of our lobby was a tiny dome shaped room. The room had poor textures, the Dott Statue sat in the middle and it attached directly to the Museum Hallway.
Second Iteration:
- By the time our Second phase came around we had expanded the room and created an office light sound effect, an effect that was later reused on the posters but smaller in scale. The textures were almost all 2D in the levels with no depth, no tessellation as UE 5.0 wanted nanites to take the front, and optimization was bad. (See Image Above)
Final Iteration:
- When we did the above design we wanted to create something far darker and terrifying. We wanted players to feel exposed and the textures were much better than previous versions. The maps code was more flushed out and we did level streaming which had major bugs as we spent almost a full year with our elevators broken half the time.
Overall, we learned a lot and grew as artists, we developed better skills and learned. The person writing this (Waves) originally was just a graphic designer, but then took up 3D Modeling, then Level Design, and now is taking up Texture design which leads us into our future Project.
UPCOMING PROJECT:
- We love game design, and we love the Maxix World. We want to create something that stands out with everyone and is much better. Game 1 was fun, but not where we wanted it for a final goodbye to our world. We decided to take our next game into the 80s, answer the question that players had on the 'abrupt' ending to Maxix Robotics, and create a long experience where players can explore, survive, and choose their adventure and how they want to combat the BOTTs. We ask questions: Does the player want to fight, do they want to run? We allow players to have this opportunity in our new Project and we added Voice Acting, Animations, Gameplay, More Dott Involvement, better Graphic/UI Design, and MUCH better environment/level design.
We love this world, and this team is fun. Though we want to raise awareness about AI as well. Team members have lost their jobs while working on this project because AI has phased them out, I have had people beg me for paid work and I am broke myself and sadly had to turn them away, Voice Actors are having their voices stolen and used by AI and they don't have money for legal battles so their voice is abused. We want to show that there is a right and wrong way for AI, we will never use AI to replace ANYONE and we are proud to say that real people made this game.
